ONE YEAR AGO: Houghton - New London, Iowa Tornado Chase

April 16th, 2024 was the first in a series of big tornado chases in April-May 2024 across the Midwest. Colin Davis and I tracked a long-track EF-2 tornado that was on the ground for 42 miles and nearly one hour across portions of southeast Iowa. This was one of my favorite chases of the year, and one of my all-time favorite storm observation VLOGs to put together. Neither the tornadoes nor the storms were off the charts in any respect, but it was as good an all around tornado chase as one could ask for.
