Observed numerous tornadoes yesterday across northern Missouri with Colin Davis, the biggest of which occurred near Unionville along the Highway 136 corridor. The first tornado of the day was a slender elephant trunk shaped tornado that played peekaboo in the rain near Ravanna, followed by two back to back strong tornadoes near Unionville, and a big tornadic HP supercell at Kirksville in the evening.
We've been chasing the last two days together in his car, but picked mine up where I'd stashed it here in northwest Illinois and drove up to our hotel in the Quad Cities. I'll be back in my own vehicle today, but tag-teaming the day with Colin as more tornadoes and significant severe weather appear likely across our home state of Illinois.
The Interstate 80 corridor across north-central Illinois is probably in trouble this evening.
